Hanoi, Vietnam – December 29, 2025 – As global supply chains continue to shift toward emerging markets, Africa is increasingly recognized as a strategic destination for international trade and investment. Among African economies, South Africa stands out as a key gateway to the continent, offering advanced infrastructure, strong logistics networks and access to more than 50 African markets.

Against this backdrop, the Friendly Meeting and Business Cooperation Exchange between Vietnam and South Africa was successfully held at 3:00 PM on December 29, 2025, at the International Convention Center, 35 Hung Vuong, Hanoi. South Africa: A Strategic Gateway to the African Market

South Africa is widely regarded as the most developed economy in Sub-Saharan Africa, with modern seaports, efficient logistics systems, a robust financial sector and advanced telecommunications infrastructure. The country plays a central role in regional trade, investment and distribution, making it an ideal entry point for international businesses seeking to expand across Africa.

With a growing middle class, increasing consumer demand and strong regional connectivity, South Africa presents significant opportunities for Vietnamese exporters and investors, particularly in manufacturing, agriculture, technology and consumer goods.

Priority Areas for Vietnam–South Africa Cooperation

During the event, representatives from South Africa emphasized their strong interest in expanding cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises across several key sectors, including:

  • Investment and distribution of Vietnamese products in South Africa

  • Logistics, transportation and supply chain development

  • Telecommunications and digital infrastructure

  • Manufacturing and distribution of mobile phones and electronic devices

  • High-tech agriculture, rice production and processed agricultural products

  • Medical equipment manufacturing and supply
